MOUNTAIN GARDEN LECTURE PLANNED OCT 6
Horticulturist, entomologist and gardener, Edmund Taylor is an expert on mountain plants and habitats. His home, Swallowtail Gardens, in Mars Hill, NC nr Asheville is filled with excellent examples of the unique range of wildflowers, shrubs and trees that do well in our area. Edmund's garden was recently featured in Southern Living, March 2011 and a treatise on his hostas by Peter Loewer, written for Carolina Gardener in April 2011. Edmund and his wife, Abigail, began gardening in Mars Hill in 2002 [1999] when they moved from Spartanburg, SC. His hosta collection was so successful that he decided to field grow hostas so people could see what mature specimens looked like that were 4-5 years old.
